自由，是台灣最閃耀的光芒，各種言論的豐富多樣性，在健全的出版業展現活力風采：幾千年的東亞漢字文化傳統，用它創新的現代樣貌在台灣這個小島上繼續發生。 

How is a small island like Taiwan able to have Asias only 24-hour bookstore? With a population of just 23 million, how can Taiwan produce one-quarter of the worlds Chinese-language publications? 

The beacon of freedom shines brightly in Taiwan. In an atmosphere where ideas and opinions are widely tolerated, the publishing industry encompasses a vast array of material. 

Thanks to the efforts of Taiwans publishers, the Chinese language, with its script that goes back thousands of years, is more than able to hold its own in the 21st century.
